The Big Urban Renewal

embroidered jeans parisAccording to my calculations, 20 is the magical number in terms of urban renewal.

Take embroidered jeans for instance; they emerged on 70’s, made a huge comeback on 90’s (all my childhood photos include at least one kid with weirdly emrboidered flared jeans) and now, again 20 years later, we are almost 30 and searching for embroidered, fringed or patchworked jeans everywhere. I think it all started when Taylor Tomasi Hill wore a pair of Junya Watanabe cropped jeans from the S/S 2014 collection to NYFW, not just catching my attention but apparently the whole world’s. It’s a complicated matter to or not to splurge so much on them considering they will be tacky in two years but then again, they will reincarnate in 20 years. I am opting for thrifted vintage.
