Golden Age of Dries Van Noten

The Antwerp genious Dries Van Noten truly caters for the modern women, offering a relaxed sophistication season after season. It’s the single collection that somehow offers trendy, sometimes overworked stuff instead of minimal, timeless designs and yet always makes me muse about new pairings and layerings with clothes that are already in my closet – as well as giving me the best hints about where I should invest my money not only for the next season but in general. I still remember the striped military blazer with assymetrical hem that was also subject to a law case between Van Noten and Zara, and even though it has been years – you can still wear it with grace. Same thing with last year’s sheer plaids and florals: nothing seems to be overshadowing their glory. Dear Readers, When you are reading this post I will be in a far off wonderment called shop(s) looking for the most nonsensical ever pair of shoes to wear at home or something. If you are broke and a fashion freak at the same time like me, then you are familiar with the endless search for the cheap & diy. My long lost love for a Dries Van Noten denim shirt with black bodice and a Pamela Love ring has led me to a little brain storming; former was easy considering I just wrapped a black vest around my loyal denim shirt. Believe it or not but that car is almost as old as me! It was broken for several days and I literally felt deficient. The harder one, the one that cost me 2 days and 4 finger scratches, was the DIY Pamela Love inspired pyramid lapis ring. It is fairly skewed and weapony sharp but I am proud with the result. Unfortunately I can not give the hints of the DIY because I did it in a fully equipped atelier as a part of my jewelry design course, but I can say that it is actually an easy piece to craft.
