For the not-so-standard bride-to-be, haute couture fashion weeks are the ultimate inspiration play grounds, much more than bridal fashion weeks. While bridal brands offer utterly romantic and ethereal wedding dresses, it’s the couture pieces that we turn our heads to and dream about. This year Alexis Mabille particularly played for future brides but personally it was Georges Hobeika’s scalloped necklines, Valentino’s iconic long sleeved gowns, Gucci and Zuhair Murad’s bold jumpsuits with an intense 70’s vibe, Yiqing Yin’s this-wouldn’t-make-peta-happy work of art fur and macrame gown and most importantly Chanel’s casual aura that made this spring 2014 couture week a bridal heaven. They are all so, so good.
