All That Glitter

christian dior spring 2014 dries van noten spring 2014 jason wu make upPersonally, my gold make up rave started with Fendi’s gold foil eye “installation” for the runway of spring/summer 2012 collection. It just looked so perfectly whimsical that I felt like I should just glue gold foils all over my face. Then gold foil nail stickers popped out of nowhere and occupied all pinterest boards, tumblr pages and editorials. I admit, at first I thought it was a nail polish and freaked out at the idea of such matte and smooth looking lacquer. Turns out it was little bit more challenging than that but still, doesn’t change the fact that it looks fantastic.

Then came fashion month spring/summer 2014; and gold accents started showing their heads everywhere. It first started softly with 3.1 Phillip Lim’s metallic nails and bronze eye shadows at Jason Wu & Gucci, then reached its peek with every bit of Dries Van Noten and Christian Dior. So to put it in a nutshell, anything gold or at least metallic is a must have on the shopping lists now. Click through to see my picks!

  2. I have kept gold eyeshadow and gold eyeliner as part of my make up bag since high school! It goes really well with my skin tone, and I’m glad it’s picking up 🙂 The KA’OIR golden goddess lipstick looks amazing though! I’ve just been using gold glitter on top of lip gloss when I want gold lips, but an actual lipstick would be great.
