No.21 S/S 2014

MARC0265.450x675 MARC0305.450x675 MARC0017.450x675When the subject is Italian fashion, all that comes into my mind are super feminine prints, cuts and styles – that is to say, not catering to my taste. Which is weird because it also is the shrine to menswear, and is housing brands like Armani and Jil Sander, which have adopted the less is more motto for years. Apparently though, it’s not enough to change my perception and that’s why it’s an amazing amusement for me to encounter the No.21 collection every season, perfectly blending Italian craftsmanship and femininity with downtown cool. In other words, it’s the physical existence of the term street wear luxe. Sequinned skirts from previous season turned sheerer to join the skirt layering party we’ve been having, rose frills, laser cuts in the shape of leaves (this and Christopher Kane’s water drops, should we sense something?) teamed with Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s signature uneven hem oversized shirts: I’m sold.
