You know what they say; one’s a style, two’s a coincidence and three’s a trend. Four or more raises the question of “did you get a memo or something?!”. And I get that feeling a lot when following New York Fashion Week. It’s the most commercial of all major fashion weeks, with discernable merchandising concerns and defining trends. It’s like you can already see all of the collections on the women of the big apple. I’m not against wearability per se, but it’s a discussion topic how much NYFW is pushing the boundries in terms of creativity (Alex Wang and Proenza Schouler aside).
Still I have to admit NYFW has already given me some good styling ideas and made me add several things to my shopping list. Here’s a brief list of the major trends of spring/summer 2014 season, first batch, live from New York!
