Dreams So Haute

Giambattista Valli couture 2014______________________________

Valentino couture 2014______________________________

Maison Martin Margiela couture 2014For some people, the past 3 days were called the Paris Couture Week. For some other people it can be referred to as the “let’s dream and hope we can find something similar on mass market or Etsy, or at least save photos somewhere so that we can have it tailored later” week. Needless to say, I’m in the latter group.

I can say so many things about the state of the art collections (Valli’s new floral dimensions, Valentino’s baroque dreams, Elie Saab’s <I’m already married but I’m still dreaming about wearing one of these to my wedding> gowns, Margiela’s everlasting absurd gorgeousness, Armani Privé’s great take on 20’s, Zuhair Murad’s attention to details, Ulyana Sergeenko’s urban ball theme…) but instead I’m just going to make this one of those “hey I like these dresses so you should check them out too!” posts and go aside. Enjoy.

  1. So many of these designers have really pushed for a consistently beautiful collection (Valentino, Elie Saab, Mason Martin Margiela) and have succeeded. These images/collections prove there’s no need to keep to the minimum. xo

  2. Saab surprised me with the splash of colours and he is amazing as always, but the man of the hour is definitely Valentino. The richness of textures and colours, the clean cuts, the impeccable craftsmanship… just perfect! Excellent piece 😉
