When it comes to Saint Laurent, I feel like the shortsided critic who the history books mention later as the “people” who didn’t “get” the new style and the rebranding process. I was so furious about the last collection (but I insist, the styling was horrible!) that I couldn’t foresee the wonders Slimane was about to offer. I admit defeat and share the wonderful Resort 2014 lookbook starring Sasha Pivovarova; of course black and white – a trademark of Hedi Slimane photography. I feel like THIS was the message new Saint Laurent was trying to convey; a new rendition of grunge with femininity – and I get it now.
